Okay, y'all, here dey come!  In a double-overtime thriller, Jonathan Han scores the game winner with 11.5 seconds left, elevating the Fairfield Stags to a 87-85 victory.  In this contest, the Stags actually led at the half, but still had to make (yet another) late run to send the game to OT.  Win the win, Fairfield goes to 10-6 in the MAAC.  In a bizarre standings scenario, a 10-6 record only gets you fifth place, out of ten teams, at this point in the season - four teams are tied for first with a record on 11-5.

Still, the win gives Fairfield their fifth in a row, keeps the momentum going, and sets them up for a possible match-up against a lower ranked team in their first round conference tournament game.  Nothing, however, is written in stone at this point, except for a winning MAAC record.  They've got three games left, including two conference tilts.  Win those two (a tall order, with one of those two games being at Rider, who will be out for blood), and they've got a shot (albeit a small one) at the top spot.  That, however, would require a number of upsets, with four teams still ahead of the Stags.  Also psychologically important (for me, anyway), is that the Stags are creeping toward a .500 overall record.  I know, I know, cartwheels...still, compared to where this team was earlier in the year, I'll take it.

Again, still a ways to go.  For now, though, just keep enjoying the ride, and hope it lasts...
